Early Years Educators Celebrate Graduation from Preparing for Life Programme

Early Years Educators from Bunratty Community Childcare, Darndale Belcamp Integrated Childcare Service (Jigsaw), Doras Buí, Edenmore Early Education Centre, Kilbarrack Foxfield Preschool, Moatview Early Education Centre and Bonnybrook Early Education were invited to their graduation from Preparing for Life’s Building Big Futures programme in Coolock Library on Wednesday 5th June.

Building Big Futures is a professional development programme created to support community Early Years (EY) settings across the Northside Partnership catchment area.

Families, College, Library & Northside Partnership Celebrate Storytime Graduation

Preparing for Life’s Early Years Education team recently joined 40 families, Marino College of Education and Coolock Library to celebrate the Storytime Graduation.

Storytime is a wonderful collaboration between Preparing for Life Early Years Education (part of Northside Partnership), Marino Institute of Education, and Dublin City Libraries which encourages parents / caregivers to read more books together at home. It is primarily geared towards pre-school children along with junior and senior infant classes.

Preparing For Life Early Years’ Storytime on Near FM
Stacy Hevey, Early Years Mentor & Programme Officer with Preparing for Life Early Years Education team, spoke to Donie Tarrant on Near FM about Storytime, a programme that encourages families to read more books with their children. Storytime is a collaboration between Preparing for Life Early Years Education, Marino Institute of Education and Coolock Library. Reading and talking about books together encourages the child’s development and supports the relationship between child and caregiver. The programme runs twice a year with local Early Years Services and primary schools who recruit 60 families.
